HTS catalyst: TZC-3/1

TZC-3/1

Application

The TZC-3/1 catalyst is designed for high-temperature shift conversion of carbon oxide with steam in the processes of syngas generation for the synthesis of various chemicals or hydrogen production.

Characteristics

The catalyst is based on iron/chromium oxides with copper as a promoter. The main component is iron(III) oxide, chromium(III) oxide acts as a stabilizer of the catalyst, whereas copper enhances the catalyst’s selectivity. Due to very low sulfur content, complete catalyst desulfurization is carried out during the activation procedure.

The form of convex tablets and a standard size (6×6 mm) ensure low and stable pressure drop during the whole time of the catalyst performance. The size 10×6 or 8×6 mm, more mechanically resistant, is recommended as a top layer to provide an additional protection against water droplets falling onto the catalyst layer.

Properties

Composition Fe2O3/Cr2O3/CuO
very low content of S and Cr6+
Form convex tablets
Dimensions (DxH) [mm] 6×6, 8×6, 10×6

Advantages

  • high and stable activity
  • high selectivity enabling the reforming process to be carried out at a low S/C ratio
  • high mechanical strength
  • very low sulfur content (separate desulfurization process is not required)
  • very low Cr+6 content
  • low and stable pressure drop
  • long proved life-time of the catalyst.

LTS catalysts: TMC-3/1, TMC-3/1-K, TMC-3/1-Cs

TMC-3/1

Application

The TMC-3/1 series catalysts are designed for low-temperature shift conversion of carbon oxide with steam in the processes of hydrogen and ammonia production.

Characteristics

The active component of the catalysts is copper, the other components including zinc oxide influence the catalytic activity and enhance the resistance against poisoning, whereas alumina acts as a structural promoter of the catalysts.
The catalysts are available in three versions:
TMC-3/1 – designed for standard applications
TMC-3/1-K – alkali-promoted catalyst resistant to chlorine compounds is recommended as a guard top layer
TMC-3/1-Cs – promoted catalyst with increased selectivity resulting in lower by-product formation (methanol)

Properties

  TMC-3/1 TMC-3/1-K TMC-3/1-Cs
Composition CuO/ZnO/Al2O3 CuO/ZnO/Al2O3,
promoter
Form tablets
Dimensions (DxH) [mm] 4.5×3.5

Advantages

  • high and stable activity,
  • high selectivity (reforming process at low ratios steam/gas),
  • high mechanical strength,
  • minimum sulfur content (removed during the reduction of catalyst, which virtually eliminates the separate process of desulphurisation),
  • low and stable pressure drop,
  • long catalyst life-time.
